Julia has had music in her blood all her life. In the early years she was a first study pianist and viola player, choosing to study voice at the Royal Northern College of Music after being awarded a scholarship on the professional performance course. She received many prizes during her time at the RNCM including the major scholarship from the Peter Moores Foundation.  On graduating Julia worked with the BBC Northern Singers, Bayreuth Festspielchor, Wexford Festival Opera and British Youth Opera.  She has performed in concert for many British orchestras including the Guildford Philharmonic, London Gala Orchestra and the Oxford Symphony Orchestra.  Julia has sung in numerous ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concerts from the Shuttleworth Collection in Biggleswade to featuring in an outdoor concert with Julian Lloyd Webber.  In television, Julia played a supporting role in the major Granada TV series ‘Lost Empires’ and featured in a Christmas Coronation Street and Sherlock Holmes special production.  In musical theatre, she played the role of ‘Ella’ in the award winning musical ‘Mack and Mabel’ at the Piccadilly Theatre, London, appearing in the Royal Variety Show the following year. She has maintained a presence on the concert platform and her more recent performances have included a concert for the Sultan of Oman in 2018.
